Q: Mercedes has AMG, BMW has M series, Audi has RS, what does Wolkswagen have?
i was wondering what are the highest performance models of german cars, MB has AMG, BMW has M series, Audi has RS series what does Wolkswagen have, it cant be GTI or GLI becuase the r32 is faster, does VW have a model as fast as MB, BMW and AUDI?

A: Bugatti, namely Veyron :) Well, that is, for anyone that has 1.4 million [US] to drop on the fastest car in the world [Shhh! Don't tell anyone that it has a VW engine in it!]. Is that fast enough for ya? :P As far as the VW-specific lineup, the "R" series is VW's go-fast label. It's not at all unlike Audi's R-line, Volvo's R-line, BMW's M-line, etc, etc, etc. There is a super-slick R36 Passat that will be here very soon, so the R32 won't be alone in VW's R stable.

Q: My dad was thinking about purchasing a 07 Audi RS 4, is that nice car?
is it reliable?

A: These are very nice cars. They are like someone else said expensive on repairs because you want someone experienced with Audi to fix it. An oil change runs around $50 bucks, but you only do them every 5-10,000 miles instead of 3,000 like regular cars. If you buy one, make sure to do the tune ups according to Audi's standards. I owned a Audi TT, wonderful sports car. The problem was the timing chain broke prematurely which ruined the entire engine. The rods to do not stop moving even though the engine dies which makes the rods go thru the pistons and the engine must be replaced. Looking at 5-15,000 dollars to do. Great, reliable, but must be maintained properly!!!

Q: Audi RS 4 vs Mercedes C63 AMG?
I like the C63 much more, plus it's 10k cheaper. What say you?

A: Out of both of them, I prefer Audi due to the fact that the Mercedes has a miserable interior, and it is way too expensive to repair. The Audi looks great because it does not have that "Look At Me" look going for it. The Mercedes kind of looks like it is trying to be anonymous but it just does not work. Another good thing about the Audi is that it is AWD. That is what I love about Audi; they make super-cars that you can use on other than just on those sunny, dry days. With the RS, just get a pair of winter rims and tires and drive that thing through 7" of snow. The Benz has an interior that is made well, but it has a dashboard that I would expect to find in a Chevrolet Impala. Audi it is, but add the M3 in and it would be a different story. Good Luck

Q: Mercedes C63 AMG or Audi RS 4?
Which would you prefer? C63 for me

A: C63. Audis are (still) nose-heavy and thus relucatant to go into turns. I think their Quattro system has some wack 60% Front / 40% Rear torque split, so why pay all that money for an AWD car that handles predominantly like a front wheel drive car? The C63 is also styled more agressively than the stock C-Class while the RS 4 is hard to tell apart from the S4, save for the R before the S. Even the nonmenclature of the Audi cars is confounding. If the base car begins with A, and the blown out, "baaaad" model begins with an RS, than what in the hell do the S-line models signify? Medium-sporty? Sorta souped up?

Q: Audi TT-S, TT-RS INFO?
Does any one know when and what the pricing will be for the new Audi TT-S and the TT-RS and when they will be for sale

A: The information on the TT-S version can be found easily on www.audi.co.uk along with artist gallery shots. More information can possibly be obtained from www.whatcar.co.uk were you can watch videos of individual manufacturers and models. The TT-S is now available to order for delivery in the summer. Pricing can be obtained by email from the Audi website.

Q: What's the difference between the S and RS series?
I'm a long time Audi fan, but never understood the difference between the s and rs series. You know... like S4 and RS4 or S6 and RS6.... it just ssems like the RS outperforms the S in most categories.... butis there something I'm missing?

A: The RS is the fastest version of the car that they offer. RS=Rally Sport The S is in the middle. S=Sport For example, Audi S4 competes with BMW 335i. Audi RS4 competes with BMW M3. Audi TT-S competes with BMW Z4 M and Porsche Cayman S. Audi TT-RS competes with faster cars. The RS are better than the sport version of other company's cars. The RS is a special car. The S competes with most sport versions of other car companies.

Q: What Will win in a race between The Audi Quattro or a Porsche 944?
I know this sounds like a ridicules race, but me and a m8 have been arguing like for ever about it, I think 1980s Quattro coupe is miles faster than a Porsche 944, Their incredibly fast, I don't think he understands how fast the Quattros really are, just because of the way they look, I love the way the Audi Quattro looks because its so discrete. I bet its the Quattro by a mile Thanks R Nicholson

A: i have both and of course Audi will win.

Q: How many audi R-8s were sold in the U.S. last year?

A: Around 16000

Q: Does today's victory at Le Mans by the diesel powered Audi R-10 mean small, light diesel engines in America?
Will this new generation of reliable and quiet diesel engines developed by Audi for the 24 hours at Le Mons, which is now a proven reality, coupled with the new sulphur standards for diesel fuel in America, mean that Detroit will finally see the viability of this superior, low polluting technology and get on-board with the rest of the world to stop building gasoline guzzling atmosphere polluters and start building small, light diesel engine powered cars. KUDOS TO AUDI AND TO THE 2 CORVETTES... well done at La Mans.

A: I currently drive a 3litre BMW turbo diesel. My American friends think it is a gasoline engine. I am about to take delivery of a twin turbo 2.7litre V6 Audi A6. The high boost diesel engine is tremedous, high torque and high power and , when properly designed, quiet. A small (0.8litre) high pressure 4 cylinder turbo diesel could be used to power a car about the same size as a Prius and get 50-60 mpgallon. No complexity, just good engineering. Wake up America! Europe is ahead!

Q: i have a R reg audi a4 2.8l v6 and i am looking to give it a major power upgrade?
Can i have a turbo fitted or is that imposible ? meany thanx matt

A: you could put a twin trubo in it but all the money u would spend on that you can buy a nice used S4... one thing i did to my 98 A4 2.8 Quattro is a chip from VW its about $650 adds about 50 - 65 HP and 70 - 85 Tourqe ... German cars are alot of fun to tune ... unlike hondas where everything fits in place because they are the most modifiable cars in the world... with a german car there is a bit of a challenge... definently buy a BOMz intake they might seem cheap but are amazing for 60 dollers they are a steal. my car jumps alot better with it.

Q: Does anyone know when the new Audi TT-R is coming out?

A: The Audi TT-S is coming out very soon. If they decide to make the TT-RS, it will come out after 2010.

Q: isn't the Audi R-Zero concept really cool and sporty looking??

A: It's not "really" an Audi, as it is just a couple of CGI sketches by three French design students. There are no official ties with Audi whatsoever. For those who haven't seen it: http://www.autoblog.com/2006/06/23/audi-r-zero-electric-sports-car/ Now, having said that, I think it's a beautiful design. -Jim

Q: how does audi r8 R-tronic shift system works ? ?
i mean .. when i put the gear on A in the r-tronic audi r8 .. will i drive the car without touching the gearbox or how it works ... nd wats the + and - in the gearbox thx

A: r-tronic shift sytem is essentially tiptronic. it allows for automatic drivers to ride around town no problem. but it also allows you to switch in tronic. in tronic, the driver treats the car like a manual. the + shifts the gear up and the - shifts it down. This is when you want the sporty feel of your car. R-tronic is a sportier version of a tiptronic system. and with a car like an r8. having the ability to throw it into manual when you relly want to jump is a plus.

Q: Does anyone know the tune and the singer for the TV advert for Audi R?

Q: Does my 1998 R-reg Audi A4 have an overhead cam belt?
