Q: Audi A4 - Do I really need to have the bumper removed to change an Indicator bulb?
Audi A4, early 2001, 'old' shape. Single headlight / indicator units.

A: I have done this myself it can be done but you need someone with small hands. The clip needs to be pulled to oneside then squezed open wiggle the cap off and you should be able to change the bulb. One side is more difficult than the other, but give it a try as you arn't looseing anything by having a go

Q: What is the Audi A4 commercial song called?
On the Audi A4 commercial, the one that says, "progress is beautiful," where the room is changing to modern times, what is the song called that they play throughout the commercial? artist: ? song: ? album: ?

A: The artist is AZukx, not Azukz, in the album Mind Nature released in 1999. The song is Templeboy. Really the only place to purchase the album is http://www.whirl-y-gig.org.uk/store.html#azukx, because that is the only place where AZukx distributes their music. It's a UK band. Q: How can I fix the wiring of the dash of a 1996 Audi A4? Nothing works at all.?
No gauges work at all. Tach, speedo, oil pressure, temp, gas gauges, none work. All dead. It is a 1996 Audi A4 2.8. Checked everything we could think of, fuses are all fine as well. Wiring looks fine, no frays, burns etc...

A: did u check fuses

Q: 1997 Audi A4 TDi Saloon - How do I fold my seats down?
I have an Audi A4, it doesn't have split rear seats and I need to load something long into the car. Surely on a car like this you can put the seats down? If there is I can't find the buttons to unlock them. Many Thanks, John

A: Sorry mate, folding rear seats are an optional extra on an Audi - about 500 quid, too. That's probably why there aren't many about. You might have a ski bag, though. Is there a fold-down armrest between the rear seats? If you've got it, there's a little panel that opens up, and you roll out a long thin bag for putting a pair of skis in, which you load through from the boot.

Q: What car should I get Acura TSX, Audi A4, Infiniti G35X ?
I currently own a 2003 G35 and I want to sell my car and get something else. I'm thinking about one of the three. I like the body of the new TSX and its cheaper than the other two. However, I'm still a fan of the Audi A4 and the new G35X. Which car do you recommend?

A: The new G is actually a G37x, so you will have more power than what you currently have. The TSX is a bit weak, so it may feel like a downgrade from your G35. I would suggest the TL instead. The A4 is fun to drive, but i don't see it as a G37 competitor, 200hp not enough. The Gs should be compared to the higher end A4s in my opinion.

Q: What are the advantages/disadvantages of a bmw 330xi vs. an audi a4?
I'm thinking of buying either a BMW 330xi or an Audi A4 v6. I'm looking for great performance, a good ride, and an all wheel drive.

A: bmw: -suppose to have better handling. was fun to drive(I'm not a professional driver, so I couldn't tell the difference between the IS350 and the 330) -lousy interior -more expensive compared to the audi -better gas mileage -I've tried the auto version and it had a terrible lag until the car rev above ~3000 rpms audi: -hated the handling, since i couldn't feel the road -suppose to be safer -better interior -cheaper compared to the bimmer -i wouldn't buy it cuz it is made by VW and will probably have that lovely VW feature (electrical issues with taillight) -looks more aggressive -no low end torque like hondas

Q: Should the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?
I bought a W reg UK Audi A4 Cabriolet the other day and i'm really happy with it - but my sis pointed out today it has no Audi badge on the rear boot. Is this normal? I think it looks nice without it, but i'm just curios to know if there was one there in the first place. Thanks

A: When the car was new,the first owner would have had the choice whether they wanted the badge or not.

Q: I want to sell my Audi A4, where do I start?
1998 Audi A4 in excellent condition, low mileage and comes with all the trimmings (a/c, sunroof, heated seats, tiptronic, abs etc). Dark green exterior, tan leather interior. Located in Toronto, Canada.

A: First, I would start by cleaning it up real nice. Take some digital photos that compliment the car. Second, think about a good write-up you can use on the below links. Be sure to emphasis the fact that it has low miles and superior condition. I would also suggest advertising the vehicle for about $500 to $1000 dollars more than you would like to get. That way if you get what you list it for great, if not you have room to barter. Another good site to check out is http://www.kbb.com/ Kelly Blue Book to get a rough estimate of what your car is worth. However, keep in mind this is a "Rough" estimate. I believe Kelly Blue Book Generally gives you a low ball figure. The last link is a Audi Forum that would get your car a lot of exposure to Audi Owners and Buyers. I would highly recommend posting there as well. Good Luck http://www.autotrader.com/ http://www.cars.com/go/index.jsp http://www.AudiWorld.com/

Q: How much are Stock 2000 Audi A4 Rims worth?
i have a Audi A4, 2000 model, i'm lookin to sell the stock 15 or 16 inch rims....how much they worth?

A: Depends on the condition. $100 if there is a lot of curb rash, maybe $300 if they are brand new. It also depends on what style they are i.e. regular, sport.. since different packages came with different wheels.

Q: How to restore the chrome trim around my windows on a '98 Audi A4?
I have a '98 Audi A4 with chrome trim around the windows (I'm not sure if it's real chrome) anyhow, the trim looks a bit weathered (Looks like oxidation or dullness) and could use a nice shine. I've tried using a chrome cleaner and LCR, both of them made the trim look brand-new until it dried, then it was just the same before I applied them. Is there something I can do or use to shine the trim up again?

A: If you don't want to replace it you could try this. You'll need Saran wrap or something like it, and a bottle of coke. Pour the coke on the Saran wrap then rub the chrome. It worked for me on my truck.

Q: 160k miles on an Audi A4 1996 Quattro too high?
I'm looking to buy an audi a4 '96 quattro with 160k miles on it. I 'm aware they do require to drop a lot of money for maintenance and im willing to run that risk. I calculated it has 15k miles per year and that is the national average but im still have concerns its too high. Can you give me some opinions on weather the miles are too high?

A: Besides the timing belt, water pump the only real issues are the oil pump, with sludge build up and the auto trans failure. The motors are other wise bullet proof

Q: How much is an Audi A4 to Insure?
I don't want a quote, and I don't want an american insurance bracket or whatever they're called, just, if you could, name a car that would be about the same as an Audi A4 to insure. 1.8 litre, say, 2000-2002, I hear they're cheap to insure but, if anyone could confirm or deny I'd appreciate it.

A: Audi a4s arent bad to insure they are not a really predominant car on the road and not an often stolen car. youll pay way more for a civic. Hope that helped?

Q: what do you think about the 1996 audi A4?
i need a real opinion need to buy a (used) car and i found this audi A4 i don't like light cars so, does anyone have any experience with this one?

A: I'd suggest to go to http://autos.msn.com/home/reliability_ratings.aspx and maybe you can look up the relibility ratings there for many late model used cars. there should be a yellow box in the middle and put in info of the car you're looking up. dont let the red boxes bother you too much unless there's more than one or two and the costs are very high. then call about the car you looked at or are looking at and ask if these things have been fixed or repaired or replaced.

Q: How to make an audi a4 look cool?
What things do you think I should do to trick out my new audi a4 1.8 turbo? There are little things irst and then big things? Thanks

A: an audi A4 Is cool. -you dont need to mess it up and look like a silly little boy racer wannabe. ...the result will be you looking like a tryhard.

Q: Has anyone installed a forward facing car seat in an Audi A4 convertible?
My husband just bought an Audi A4 convertible. The rear seats have LATCH, but the problem is that the rear headrests are not removable, so our regular car seat (a Britax Marathon) is being pushed forward and cannot be installed properly. I am trying to get a Safeguard Go carseat but there is no upper tether in the car. Any suggestions?

A: Convertibles are not required to have top tethers, but LATCH is! LATCH=Lower Anchors and TETHERS for CHildren. I'd double and triple check your manual. My husband has a 2004 Audi A4 wagon and his top tether is RIGHT behind the headrest. And I mean RIGHT behind it. As in you have five or six extra feet of tail from the Marathon tether. It's RIGHT behind the headrest. Have you tried installing it with a seatbelt? The Marathon is a pretty forgiving seat. I can get our Wizard (same size and shell as the Marathon) in with a seatbelt. And if you do a seatbelt installation the top tether is not required. Some general tips. When you are installing the carseat, thread the seatbelt through the belt path and buckle it. Then tighten the seatbelt as much as possible. Put your body or at least some weight, a hand or knee pressed hard, into the seat. The part of the seatbelt you want to tighten, that's doing the carseat holding, is the lapbelt portion. So pull on that HARD and get the lapbelt taunt. Then route it through the forward facing lockoff and lock it. For an added measure of safety I then pull the shoulder belt all the way out and then release it, which switches it from an emergency locking retractor (which is like the front seats, it locks only if you suddenly pull on it) to an automatic locking retractor (which locks no matter what you do, even if you just exhale your seatbelt gets tighter). Then check at the belt path. If you get less than 1" of movement AT THE BELT PATH both side to side and forward and back you've got an acceptable installation. Another option, if your child is less than 33 pounds, is to install the carseat rear facing. A child may prefer that so the wind isn't completely in their face anyway. Since older rear facing kids don't need a 45 degree recline you can put the seat pretty upright and you can brace it with the front seat (which is good, since I know A4s aren't known for their roomy rear seats). Then you can tether it down using the D ring that came with the seat. On my husband's A4 I found an acceptable tethering location by sliding the D ring under the track for the front seat to slide on, then I pulled it back toward the backseat so if the front seat was moved it wouldn't fray the D ring. Again, given the size of the A4s back seat, do this before you install the seat. If you do a rear facing installation you can do either LATCH or use the seatbelt. Whichever works best. And I'm positive the seat will fit in there as my daughter rode rear facing in her Wizard in my husband's A4 for quite a while.
